In synch with the dynamic growth of the Risch-Rotkreuz community, the southern, more neglected side of the Rotkreuz train station is to be upgraded and developed. We determined potential usage of the plots owned by the SBB and defined the scope of the new projects. This resulted in an urban development concept for the entire area surrounding the train station. The development analysis revealed that the SBB site could realistically be transformed into a vital, dense, urban and commercially flourishing district. It also highlighted the urban planning parameters, such as minimum floor area, building height, density and mixed use percentages essential to achieving these results.
