The project is comprised of the Airside Center, a shopping mall and air-side hub for passenger streams, and the Railway Terminal, its land-side counterpart with check-in counters, train station and retail facilities connecting passages and visitors with trains, buses and parking facilities.

The planning process and realization were both organizationally and technically challenging since a diversity of users had to be taken into account, work had to take place parallel to day-to-day operations and space at the construction site was extremely limited. Thus, rapid construction progress was essential as well as compliance with the ambitious cost objectives.
